Where to ride in India: easy starts and bigger routes

India is too large for one riding style, so choose the region before you choose the motorcycle.

Good first routes

• Easy: Goa coastal roads, Kochi to backwater edges, Jaipur to nearby forts in daylight.
• Medium: Kerala hill stations, Rajasthan desert roads, or Mysuru and Coorg with early starts.
• Hard: Ladakh, Spiti, Himachal high passes, or long interstate rides only with preparation and weather checks.

Weather and season

Monsoon season can close roads, flood cities, and trigger landslides in mountain areas. Build flexible days into the plan.

On day one, choose a route with fuel, shade, food, and a clean return before dark.
